Fuse Board Upgrades

We can provide a free estimate to replace your existing fuse board with a modern Consumer Unit. These Consumer Units contain a Main Isolator, together with Circuit Breakers (CBs) & Residual Current Devices (RCDs), which together provide a far greater level of protection than re-warble fuses.

We also check (and if necessary upgrade) your earthing and bonding arrangements.

 

Circuit Breakers

Circuit Breakers (CBs) are mechanical switches that incorporate thermal & magnetic circuit protection giving accurate & fast disconnection in the case of a fault.

 

Unlike fuse wires they can be reset without the need of tools.

 

Residual Current Devices

Residual Current Devices (RCDs) are earth fault safety trips that monitor parts of the installation or individual circuit for earth leakage currents.

 

Fuse board upgrades may be required for various reasons:

• Protective devices may be obsolete or faulty

• Fuse Board may be overloaded

• Additional circuits may be required for a house extension

• The installation of RCDs for additional protection
